If it has a billet input shaft in it then my guess is this:

That's crazy if you're still running a stock input shaft.

I highly doubt Gilbert built you a trans that doesnt have all billet shafts.Usually builders do a billet input before an intermediate. Did you ever find a local builder you trust to rebuild it?

Gilbert does the billet intermediate before the billet input.

I stand corrected! I asked for a billet forward hub and got a billet input shaft to go with it.

Nah front diff is fine...well, in general anyway, it kind of leaks but always has

I remember talking to gilbert at the time and we talked about billet shafts and I think at the time we just did an intermediate one. Didnt finish pulling the trans today...maybe tomorrow.

Are you going to tear into the trans or send it back to gilbert?

Ill probably do it. Nothing personal against him or Blake, but I dont like relying on other people to do things for me when its within my capacity to do it.

Oh and looking at the log of the run, the extra smoke is actually the subsequent over rev of the engine since all load got removed when it was making 1100+hp. Fuel cut is at 6700 I think and it still reved to at least 7500ish. I dont suspect valvetrain damage, but want to investigate the springs at least.
