Yep, pretty much. If I close the idle screw enough so the IAC counts are >0 when its hot then it wont idle up enough when the load is removed even with the iac all the way open when its cold or starting. Keep in mind this is basically the same timing between park and drive, so what I am doing now is lowering the timing in drive so it will behave with the same amount of air, starting with taking out 5 degrees and go from there.

This has always been an issue though, I know on my turbo setup if it say with the advance at 4 degrees for very long the manifolds would start glowing

Mark, I still have the ladder rack and mounts in the bed, just take it off when I work on it in the garage. Its not such a good disguise any more though since most people identify the truck by the ladder rack haha

I have the same issue part throttle around 100kpa. Exhaust could be part of the equation as I am using the same Flowmaster y-collector you are but mine got more pronounced after the rebuild and the cam change. I think the large exhaust duration has a lot to do with it. I tried playing with timing in the rasp range and it didn't seem to effect the noise much. I can be in boost thru the same rpm range and it is not raspy.

Talked to Bob at AEICNC and he is making me a custom blower pulley based on the 6rib one I sent him, basically told him to add 2 ribs to the front of it. I should have it back this week after its anodized, had him make it 2.9" so should be good for 13-14psi or so maybe.
I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. I would like to go down to a 3" pulley once I get my fuel system upgraded and will have to go the custom route again. I don't think the guy that did mine a few years ago is in business anymore.

Yep, still has the hole in the fender

I think my goal with the blower will be to go as fast as I went with the turbo. Anyone know what the LS truck roots/screw "street car" et/mph/hp record is?

I know your a pretty straight shooter, but I'm trying to figure out if you're bs'ing or not with that statement about matching the turbo setup

I just thought of it this morning driving to work, but I think it would be a pretty good goal (and by good I mean achievable without spending a fortune and still technically challenging). Basically everything on the truck is the same except cam and power adder (and a little heavier now), would be for an interesting comparison.

The turbo was undersized for my setup, so I don't think it set the bar too far out ahead of whats within reason with a big blower. Certainly the 2.3 wont get me there, but that's not to say a larger one wouldn't (or this little guy with a lot of help).

I don't care about running 7s or whatever trucks are running these days, I will never have the resources to compete with that, but a fast roots/screw (PC guys don't count ) blower setup...not a lot of guys have done that one so it leaves a lot of tinker room. After a while it seems everyone falls into the same recipe and it gets boring. How many LS 5.3s with s480s and holley intakes in foxbodys do you see on facebook? I get it, its cheap and proven and runs 8s or whatever, but kinda boring when everyone is doing that same thing. Somewhat similar story with trucks; trick/kb hot pipes, s480, 6.0, holley/edlebrock intake, caltracs, 80e, blah blah blah.
