Havent given an update in a while...truck still works! Actually been parking it outside in the rain for the first time in its life since I've had it (garage was occupied). Drove it a pretty good amount around time on errands and stuff. Currently has the 6rib setup with a 3.25 pulley I think and is around 8-9psi I think. Its a very fun setup, although I can tell my exhaust needs some work at some point, has a very annoying rasp around 2300-2600rpm or so. Easily spins the tires through 2nd, haven't messed with 4wd launches any.

Still working on the idle tuning with the IAC valve...kind of weird, its like the IAC doesn't have enough range. What I mean is if I set the idle adjust screw so it is open enough to start easily, when it gets hot the IAC is fully closed but it still idles high. If I close the adjust screw so it idles ok when its hot it doesn't start easily. Drilling a hole isn't the answer, it seems I need a bigger IAC valve, not sure what to do about that. I have an idle to mess with the spark timing tables so it idles with less timing in drive (will drop timing down to the minimum to attempt to lower the idle speed).

I think part of the issue is my converter is so tight it loads the engine a lot with it in drive, but speaking of that, I measured slip % during a WOT run and at 5200rpm it has like 4% slip pretty sure its laughing at my little blower. It still wont really go into lockup though, think maybe it might be the oring not sealing or something, but its never really locked up to my liking.

Talked to Bob at AEICNC and he is making me a custom blower pulley based on the 6rib one I sent him, basically told him to add 2 ribs to the front of it. I should have it back this week after its anodized, had him make it 2.9" so should be good for 13-14psi or so maybe. Also plan to try to use the magnacharger HD tensioner setup instead of th whipple one, which looks like the same wimpy normal one magnacharger uses.

I also powdercoated the 5" intake pipe black when I was making some coilover brackets this weekend. Future plans are to get the new pulley and 8 rib stuff going, then get the new coolant tank finished so I get rid of the stupid stock whipple one. Long term plans would be really cool for a 2" primary header with a 3.5" collector and boost activated cutouts right off the collectors with the normal system flowing back like normal, maybe even neck it down to 3" so it will quiet it down a lot. Amazing how much louder supercharged/NA is than a turbo setup of double the power.

I also attached some pictures in case you people forgot what it looks like

So I am assuming you verified that the IAC is fully open during cranking? If not, have you tried tweaking the startup airflow initial values?

The IAC says it is fully open, have I actually looked at it, nope. I don't think its something than can be tweaked in the tune, I think its a mechanical limitation.

Sounds fishy. I've never had an issue keeping the IAC from clipping. If the converter really is that tight you should just raise the in drive idle timing like you mentioned. After you make sure the IAC works through its whole range of course lol.

Yea getting the idle set in park is very easy and its super smooth and manageable. In drive however it is loading the engine much more and is basically ideling too high with the least amount of air I can give it, so I have to reduce timing (power) to reduce idle speed. I lowered the set RPM as well. This 218/239 cam is an odd one in this size engine haha.

With extra load on the engine and IAC closed it idles too high?? Basically opposite of what should happen lol.
