Well crap. Shocks are rattling in the lower mount. Farkin metric bolts. Actually, it's not so much that they're metric, it's that the diameter of the threaded portion is larger than the bolt shank. I struggle to understand the engineering concept for this.

I'll get some 1/2" dia grade 8 bolts and use the 1/2" ID sleeves that came with the shocks.

 

Ignore the post above about the 1/2" bolts. That was just stupid.

Left the 9/16" ID sleeves in and replaced the lower shock bolts with Grade 8 9/16" x 3" bolts. No more rattle.

Also, I turned the compression adjustment on the shocks to 0.
Other than tweaking the shock adjustment, that should solve me there.


Last thing, I need to flip the 4* shim. It was supposed to be fat side back to raise the pinion angle 4*, but was installed fat side forward.

Can anyone give me some insight here? What do I need to support and what do I need to jack up here? Can I just loosen the saddle bolts and spin it around or is this going to be more involved?

 

Well it looks like my drop kit install is completely jacked up.

So what is the solution for correcting a dog-walk condition?

I am going the oppisite direction with my 2014, just installed leveling kit and 305/50/20. However, once i finish helper bags will need to address a better ride but at factory heights. I am hoping withthe maggie it should surprise a few dropped trucks out there.

It's at the dealership now. They're going to remove the pinion shims and re-install the trans spacer. That will put the flip kit back to the recommended install setup. They will also fix the dog walking.

The front install will be checked/repaired as necessary. One of the pins for the caster eccentric fell out.

Alignment & road force balance the wheels.

Fingers crossed.

 

It's been a long week. In a nutshell, I'm done jacking with the suspension.

After some back and forth with the tech, he installed the trans spacer, but left the shims ins place as they are. Truck rides fine so no complaints.
