Dark Star - 2014 Silverado RCSB

Wow. Pretty sure I want to do Drag Week next year.
So now my goal ia a solid 13 second truck. That will also let me run 13.o index racing.
Converter? Any recommendations? I don't know if I need a lockup or not?
Headers and a good exhaust.
Probably will need to go with some lightweight wheels.
That should be close I think.

I'm trying to decide on next steps. I've got three potential candidates. They are all about the same cost (parts + labor).
1) Viking DA Coil-over shocks for the front: Important because this is a daily driver and the mismatch between the stock front struts and the rear DA shocks makes for an odd ride on the highway. Plus I think I can get the suspension better tuned at the strip to improve my 60' times.
2) Long tube headers: This would be a great butt dyno improvement all around. Plus I think I'm past due for getting this done.
3) Higher stall converter: While this is supposed to be the best bang for the buck, I don't think this will do anything to improve my daily driving experience. I'm not entirely convinced it will help much at the strip. I already still have a bit of wheel spin off the line. Won't this exascerbate that? I do admit, I have zero experience with converters, 1st, 2nd or 3rd hand.
I'm also considering putting the front suspension back to stock and taking the flip kit out of the rear. Apparently, the Z71 package comes with aluminum front A-arms & spindles.

I do understand you have many more options though!

I swapped mine over to aluminum Z71 parts. I might have been the first, I don't know. I'm glad I did, I can tell a huge difference. It didn't run any faster at the track, but traction is to blame for that. My next mod will be a flip kit.

If you're running stock height spindles, won't the flip kit make the rear sit lower than the front?

I'm sure it would. Rough country sells a 2/4 kit that is a flip kit and you move the lower shock mount under the lower a-arm. I did the front on mine and it was fine. I couldn't get it to align like I wanted because it needed their camber bolt kit for an extra degree of adjustment. I drove it for about 2 months, it didn't pull or wear tires, I just knew it wasn't right. I will put it back once I order the camber kit and flip kit.
