got the pan of, and took the pickup tube off. The o-ring went right in without too much fuss. Its mostly back together now. Just need to get a new oil filter and fill her up, cross my fingers and pray that it has oil pressure.

sucks about the o ring, glad you got it fixed. check the oil level sensor and make sure no wires got broke or pulled out when the pan was hanging.

Yea, already checked everything. Went to try and start it and there wasn't enough juice to get it started and there's no way for another vehicle to get close enough to jump it, so I had to go get a battery charger. I needed one anyway so no biggie. Now its a waiting game till the battery is charged.

my truck :: newcam.mp4 video by andysC3 - Photobucket
Idling around 750 with 50# of oil pressure
also turns out that my no start was do to a loose connection on the starter. All I have left to do is bolt the front diff back up, reinstall the xmember, add the coolant and get it retuned.

Sounds great! I'm sure that thing is gonna be a beast! You could have all that finished up by tonight. Do you have HPTuners? You've been working with a local forum member to iron out your tune haven't you?

got everything bolted back up. Went for a short test drive and didn't make it very far. Kept dying on me with the old tune. GMCtrk started tuning and its at least drivable now. Took it to about 50% throttle and there was a noticeable difference . Needs some more fine tuning though.

I would imagine with that size cam you wouldnt even really feel the difference until you get aggressive with the throttle. If its still as strong under lighter throttle thats a really good sign. I can't wait to see how you do at the track this winter.

It's a very strong setup. He got into the throttle about 55% at one point and it definitely felt like more than that compared to the stock cam. At sea level I don't see why it wouldn't run 12s. And I was very surprised how mild the cam was once the idle was straightened out. Very smooth idle at 700 rpm. However, down at the stock setting of 525 rpm, it was chopping and shaking pretty good...
