meh... i see why the General didn't want to use that one.
the original looks a little more streamlined with the handle incorporated into the lip & no plastic strip up top, however the new one's bottom & side edges are much cleaner.

not that it looks bad or anything at all, and for that price - no complaints whatsoever

Probably because it's on already and the hinges aren't falling off but I kinda like the bigger upper plastic.

well, those're two very good reasons! as was the price. still looks good to me, either way.

it's kinda like the 99-00 jump seat lid... it had a flip-up cover in the middle with a clip to hold a notepad so you can write stuff (and also held in all my retail club cards when closed), and my phone fit perfectly in the little finger gap around the latch. then for 01-07, they took the cover off & made it just a dinky open tray where everything just slides around & holds nothing when the seat's up.

you can't find replacements for the old version nowadays, so i just dealt with the broken hinge for years so i could keep the functional notepad piece.

I have to agree the 01-07 center consoles are trash. I keep a towel in mine so that it compresses all the stuff inside and keeps it quiet. I've long considered maybe swapping in the NNBS console or finding anything better.

Got it washed today. I'm starting to like the chrome on the rack I think its gonna stay.
