Thanks most people just think I put a suburban hood on.

Future power is to come but probably won't be boost with this motor. I'd like to find a low mile 6.2 to put a cam in and maybe some head work. Then some sort of progressive boost twerkstorm or turbo. But I'd really like to feel the difference of a gen 3 6.0 to a 6.2 both with light mods.

good deal, man.
and i feel ya on the power bit... i've lately been rolling around on the tow tune (second-lowest horsepower setting) because it's just easier to drive - especially with the short 1-3 gearing.

Even with the 3.42s I leave/roll stops in 3rd this thing is a twerk monster and so smooth.

What gear can you leave in with the Cummins?

...but for realz, it's much like the 4500, just with an extra gear in the middle (6spd but only 1 overdrive).
2nd from a stop normally (occasionally 3rd), and that's with 33s & 3.42 rear. he is a fat pig, though... 7700lb empty, based on my PCS weight last week.

hopefully next year, i'll have me a compound kit on it lower EGTs, longer life from the stock VGT turbo, and if i happen to make 1200lb of torque, so be it

Did you just assume your trucks gender?

I can see how the extra middle gear would be helpful when towing. Do you wish it had higher gears?

nope... it's pretty clear-cut. he can't be that big & burly without obviously being a dude

but the 3.42s are fine. the stupid factory 'upgrade' dubs are pretty gay, but more like closet gay: a little flashy but still productive & acts like every other set of wheels out there, but you can tell something ain't quite right. gonna go for some 17s with 34" meat when these're done. that should soften up the ride a bit & drop 70mph down a little closer towards the 1400 RPM efficiency sweet spot. but i'd still take this over the double-OD automatic options. either way - i don't run around a 85-90mph all the time, so it ain't that big a deal.

Stumbled on an Escalade rack and appliques last weekend so I got them painted up and put on. Never liked the holes in the roof being exposed to all the rain we get but hated the factory rack.

Also finally solved an issue where the yoke would hit the Evap bracket on a hard 1st gear launch. Took a couple tries with different bump stops and finally found a set that limited the up travel just enough to solve the issue without ruining ride quality. Need to get a set of adjustable UCAs to fix the pinion angle but this is a cheap fix for now.

Lastly found out my back window was about to fall off as the hinges were separating from the glass. Managed to find a rare style rear glass at LKQ for $34 already tinted and with a Florida Squatch.

Old regular style window

New rare style glass

Thanks. I couldn't find much info about what models got the different glass. The general consensus is 05-06 and less than 20% of the trucks those years got them. Supposedly not directly related to any RPO or VIN code.
