so I have 10 gears now???

 

Custm still is going to school us on these "floating" gears....

Imagine that, all these transmissions I've built, and I thought it just had 4 gears... Silly me...

 

I think the in between gears are multiple bands engaged simultaneously... Or slipping transmission.

 

Let's be generous here

Frame - 250 lbs
Engine - 500 lbs
trans - 200 lbs
Rear - 150 lbs
Driveshaft - 15 lbs
cab - 350 lbs
front clip - 120 lbs
hacked bed - 200 lbs
Dash - 25 lbs
column - 12 lbs
seats - 35 lbs
Doors - 45 lbs
wheels/tires - 140 lbs
stereo - 150 lbs

Total - 2192 lbs


But the reality here, that doesn't include hardware to hold it all together. I didn't figure in a battery, and a bunch else. If he claimed 2800-3000 lbs, I would be more likely to believe it.

The sad thing is someone out there might believe this. I have seen people buy trucks that will "run 10's with slicks" and get outran by bus lengths by a 13 second truck.
