It should be level
But I haven't set my ride height, which I can't do until I get a bed, which I can't do until I get paid from best buy (my previous employer, that owes me $1600 in severance)

But I'm still taking donations.

If you want to duplicate a grand national suspension your gonna need two more bars in there some where. The g bodys have almost the same style suspension as a fox body mustang, which have two lower control arms that set under the axle and two upper control arms that sit above the axle. they mount to the body in a V which also is used to locate the rear end side to side.

I think i see where your going with this 2 link idea but they need to be mounted under the axle so that its a push to lift instead of a pull to lift. You should also have a panhard rod in there to locate the axle side to side.

I like your out of the box thinking but they way this rear is set up i just cant see it working that well.

This is a budget build so:
I'm going to sell my 4L60e while its still good and worth good money
4L80e is too big, heavy, expensive and requires a custom drive shaft
Th400 is too big and heavy
power glide, now we're talking but will still require lots of internal mods
Lenco 2 speed...jackpot
I should be able to use my old long bed drive shaft with the new wheelbase and be very close
It'll cut hundreds of pounds and add 5-8% more HP
Found a few used ones for $1,000 even
But I need advice on a bell housing and clutch recommendation
I may try a bell housing off a 4l60e and see if it can fit the lenco. But I still need to figure out lenco's input and clutch systems.
How is an 80E expensive but a $1000 Lenco without a clutch or bellhousing isnt?
yea it might be heavy but 50# more isnt a whole lot with the strength you get in return.

4L80e is about $400-$600 around here
That's used with lots of miles
Factor in the valve body and converter and you're already at $600-700 with stock internals. a 4L80e weighs 50 lbs more than a 4L60e but a 2 speed lenco weighs 40lbs minus bell housing and clutch.

Also there isn't a direct fit drive shaft for this truck with a 4L80e so I'm stuck paying $150 for the drive shaft modification.

Biggest deal sealer for me is the lenco is good for 2500hp. 4L80e is good for 1500 or so with $4,000 worth of work.

why would you need a VB?

All there is to do is a TH400 Long yoke ($20) and a ujoint ($10) unless you moved the axle?

just wondering..

What gear ratios are in the Lenco?

This motor 1,000 HP race trim
700 ish street
when I build one it'll be as high as I can afford

I'm going for HP not torque though
so I'm planning a destroked 6.0 with forged internals as the replacement.
