Has Anyone looked into putting front brakes off a 79-87 truck on the rear axles?
No grinding required to run 15's and the parts are dirty dirt cheap

In preparation for the HP I hope to be running I've been looking into transmissions again.
This is a budget build so:
I'm going to sell my 4L60e while its still good and worth good money

4L80e is too big, heavy, expensive and requires a custom drive shaft
Th400 is too big and heavy
power glide, now we're talking but will still require lots of internal mods

Nv3500 can't shift over 5,000rpm
Nv4500 weighs 450 lbs and the gearing is all wrong
T56 is too weak or too expensive

Lenco 2 speed...jackpot
I should be able to use my old long bed drive shaft with the new wheelbase and be very close
It'll cut hundreds of pounds and add 5-8% more HP
Found a few used ones for $1,000 even
But I need advice on a bell housing and clutch recommendation
I may try a bell housing off a 4l60e and see if it can fit the lenco. But I still need to figure out lenco's input and clutch systems.

Not trying to cloud up your thread, but your rear 2 link isnt going to "lift" like you want it to.

The pivot for your rear suspension is the rear end itself. The only way the bumpers or whatnot are going to lift the front end is if the rear end drops away from the frame changing the pivot point to the middle hanger. when the rear end squats those bars are going to move away from those bumpers.

that's exactly what happens
Hard to explain but the front of the bars push up and lift the front pivot point

I'll try to get a video of it

I tried to duplicate the forces out of a grand national because they're notorious for wheel stands and hooking up hard without any suspension modifications.

Why is your rear end pointing at the sky, isn't supposed to be pointing down???
