Thanks,

Alot of people are using the stock Z06 cam, the tripple 12 that Stock48 can get you and I used the Scoggin Dickeys HT1 cam. I picked up over a second with the cam and no stall, drives fine without it. Then I dropped over another second with 4lbs of boost. I will installing a 4l80e with a 3400 stall though and turning it up 10-12lbs.

Hey MAN! How are you and the family doing? Hope all is well in NC. Things are going pretty good out here on the boat. Have you gotten any new track times? When is that 4L80e going in? Do you have the converter yet? And are you changing the flex plate?

RedChevyWes, you're going to want to go for more than a 2600 stall. If you throw in a 2600 stall, you'll be surprised how much the truck wakes up, HOWEVER you won't be ASTOUNDED by how much it wakes up if you had gone with a 3000-3600 stall. I have a cheap, used, TCI converter inbetween my cammed 4.8l and 4l60e that stalls to about 3300 or so. Its awesome however it is a little loose and takes some throttle to get the truck to move. HOWEVER, from everything I've read, a good quality converter can be built to be tight during normal driving, but then stall high under significant load. FYI, I talked to Dave Yank and he drives a 4000 stall in his DD!

Jason, hurry up and make some more progress. I'm living vicariously through you out here and trying not to think about the poor, unfinished state of my truck

Jason- Were glad your doing well out there. Havent done anything to the truck, best run was 14 flat at 100.8 on 4lbs. My plans are for now to put in a check valve in vacuum line going to the electronic assist brakes. When I try to build boost, it overpowers the vacuum so the breaks push though, even at only 4lbs, if I can leave on 4lbs that would help out alot. Also, I got my adapter to go to a 4" exhaust, remember I have a 3" downpipe going into a 21/2 flowmaster, which even at this boost level is hindering the turbo performance. Enough with the excuses lol, I bought a boost controller, a turbosmart, going to turn it up to 6lbs with the exhaust and check valve and see what that does. I will be getting the circle D flex plate when I order a converter. Everyone here is well, Lacrosse season just ended, Jake's lacrosse team (first year) at the highschool made it all the way to the tournaments before state finals. They did well and lost by one point, needless to say they were emotional, but they played very good for their first year together. Paige is goalie and they made it into the tournaments and lost also, but they did well too. Take it easy out there man.

Can't have the breaks pushing through when you're try to launch! However I'm surprised that you'll even be able to leave under boost! Or maybe my truck/tires are just that dang bad on the track..or maybe its the driver. Do you have the wideband hooked up now? And that electronic boost controller will be sweet! Is it an electronic boost controller? What is the benefit of having an electronic one vs a manual controller? Are you going to need a retune for 6lbs? Exhaust will be sweet when you go to the 4" - did you get a duramax exhaust set up?

Good to hear that the family is doing well. Tell everyone I said hi.

Truck is still in the same situation, we raised the timing from 16 degrees to 20 degrees, picked up some power, but now im spinning when boost comes in at all in first and second. This on 4-5lbs with 295/40/20's with 3.42s. I love driving it, even though its not where I want it, I just need to get my trans done and stall, and do my rearend then Ill up the boost. I took it to the track this past weekend, its still running 14-14.1 at 99-100mph with a 2.2 to 2.3 60ft which is all I will get at of it right now. Weather was in the 70's and 90% humidity. I installed my 4" MBRP exhaust the next day, and I really feel like it woke it up more, I had a crap 2 1/4 single exhaust through a chambered muffler on those runs. Im sure it has 13's in it now, if the street tires will hold, but I doubt it. Ive had the Turbonetics 62-1 on it now for 3000 miles and no hiccups, I really think that magnum I had was defect, because this has been fine. It will work fine to atleast 10lbs I feel. Heres some vids of the truck and with new exhaust.

I havent updated in awhile on here. Some have seen in other post I started that my 03 was destroyed by an 18 yearold that ran a stop sign. It was the night of my fastest pass. The truck ran a 12.09 at 110.8 with a 1.69 60 without building boost. I had already picked up another 70mm but had not installed it yet. I rand this pass with a turbonetics 62-1 on 9lbs with the trick kit. This is how the truck ended up looking.

Not knowing what would happen with my truck or insurance, I found an 07 with 23,000 miles, to my surprise, it already had a cam, longtubes, built trans, 3k converter, and 4.10 gears, 5.3 truck. After bringing it home, it was just too nice to race in my opionion, and the new plan was to get the old truck back, what ever that took.

I was able to get my turbo truck back for 400 bucks. 95% of the performance parts were still good, but the frame was completely shot. I decided to find another victory red nbs, whether that be a silverado or sierra, so I could keep my step side which was in great shape, and transfer everything over that I could. I found this beauty lol, a 2000 GMC sierra, 141K 4.8 truck. Yes it was ugly, but it had no rust and I saw the potential. I bought it for 4k. It ran awesome and was well taken care of.

I brought it home and right away started tearing the ugly off. It has cleaned up nicely. My stepside bed is going on it, all of my drivetrain from my turbo truck, and Ive already transferred some interior, center console delete, my door handles, mirrors etc. Since I have the new daily, I will be deleting the ac stuff also. This truck should be a bit lighter when its done, it is manual everything, unlike the the last truck which was fully loaded. heres the progress so far.
