he dont freeze any thing just heats the bearings up so maybe you can get that pulley back on that way if not easy some light taps with a dead blow while its hot out of the oven? if it works beats pulling the pump off
While I have pump off, decided to take accessory bracket off and clean up a bit. Might rattle can it, or possibly powder coat, haven't decided.
IW 973 tensioner pulley doesn't fit stock truck tensioner, it hits the back on tensioner. Anyone with IW 8 rib have this issue? I have the LC32 sitting on shelf, but wanted to try the IW first since I already paid for it...
Just need to get hub off old PS pump and onto new, then I'll button up.
That camaro looks fun, and the truck is looking good.
If you powdercoat or paint the accessory bracket, just make sure you keep all the mounting bosses for the alternator bare aluminum, or you will have charging issues... That goes for the actual mounts for the bracket to the block/head as well on the backside of the bracket.
Well, had to cut the shaft off old pump to get the hub off and use hydraulic press to get out.
Now that that's done, I just have to get hub onto new PS pump and reinstall... Hopefully this time goes a little better.
While I was at it, I pulled accessory bracket off to degrease and paint. Decided painting was a bad idea, so I'll just throw on now that it's cleaned a bit. Bracket off.
Put pump in the fridge for a few hours and hub in air fryer for 20 min on 300*. Hub went on without a hitch.
Moral of story, buy a got install tool instead of using rental...
Will get pump and bracket installed tomorrow and bleed system Thursday after I install LC32 HD tensioner. Still need to find correct 8 rib belt as well. Hub seated on new pump
