32Transmission is in and got the drivetrain pretty much squared away. Going to order a new complete 9.5 14 bolt from my buddy at the dealership since I can get it pretty cheap then order new stronger driveshafts from Driveshaft Specialists of Texas. That should finish everything in that department and last me for a good while. Ill swap the carrier to a tru-trac unit but other then that everything else will stay pretty much stock in the rear end.

with the upgraded 5.2 dexter torsion axles, optional wheels, and front rock guard and winch mount it came out to around $10,800. Its a bitch to keep that aluminum nice and shiny though. I will eventually get the whole thing powder coated a gloss black with a Line X Platinum deck when it starts to look ugly.

Yeah the intercooler, even though was a good nice piece just wasn't gonna cut it in my application. It would have heat soaked too quick and really meant for packaging and for 1/4 mile track vehicles more so then street vehicles. I had the room so I upgraded to the Chiseled unit which completely dwarfs the 417 intercooler and should work better for what I want to do with the truck. I still have the 417 intercooler and it will be going on the SBC in the 87 GMC. (Finishing up on a custom high ram style intake for the SBC that will utilize the Holley lid) That truck is more of a show/cruiser truck so not worried about water capacity or heat soak as much.

I think you would run into the same issues, be a heat sink after a pass. The 417 intercooler was $1300 plus the $3xx for the optional water manifolds that connect on the side. The Chiseled unit was $1760.
