Default wet kit question

When running a wet nitrous kit if the bottle is empty or near empty for that matter, and the solenoids are activated will the fuel solenoid dump extra fuel into the truck without having the nitrous mix? Is this harmful to 02 sensors or anything?

I've done that. You'll know it quickly and get out of the throttle. It will be so rich that there will be no doubt. It will spit, snort, cough, ect.

I don't think running very rich for a second or 2 will hurt anything. It didn't for me.

it shouldnt hurt but you should always refill when there is only about 3-4 pounds left to be safe, i'd just be sure not to keep on it too long

I have already one it... it wont hurt the 02s unless you do it a lot... best bet is just to keep it filled and keep good pressure... I am still trying to learn exactly when I am going to need refills without dumping tons of fuel into mine too... if the kit is new to you it will just take some getting used to.

As long as you have a bottle pressure gauge whether it be bottle mounted or remote you can monitor approx. what's left. Your best bet is just to pull it once you can no longer maintain optimum bottle pressure (900-1050) and re-fill it. In any case you won't do any terminal damage by spraying a little extra fuel when you're empty.

You should monitor both the pressure guage and how hot the bottle has to get to maintian that pressure. When mine got so hot I could barely hold my hands on it for a few seconds, its time for a refill. I guess thats one of the few advantages to using a dry kit, the MAF sensor will decide how much fuel gets mixed, so your shot could fluctuate but the mix would always be good, at least theoretically

Thanks guys.. iv'e been trying to save some money in order to finish off this nitrous kit. As of now i have no bottle pressure gauge, no window switch, and no bottle heater but they are all coming soon. As for the pressure gauge does anyone make an electrical one that is not a digital readout but rather a standard mechanical looking gauge but does not need a line directly from the bottle. The reason I ask is because I just got a triple A pillar and would like to mount my pressure gauge on it, but want to have matching autometers. Also I already decided on an innovative wideband to go in the pillar but would fuel pressure be a good idea for the last gauge?

fuel pressure woudl be a nice gauge but i dont know of anyone who makes the mechanical bottle pressure without the line to the nitrous but im not a pro in gauges, when i get my nitrous kit i too will be a heater on the floor guy and doesnt running your heater slightly cool the bottle? or i'll have the bottle mounted inner frame open to air so who knows how it will get hot until i can afford the heater, i just want a kit then eventually aquire all the goodies to go with it....
