I pulled the 4.8 apart and the 4th main journal is scored a little, measured 0.003, and the rest 0.002 and one 0.015-0.002. It's going to need to be turned.

I'm going to let the machinist take a look at the rods and pistons to make sure they are still usable. If not I'll just but a bunch of stock ones. If they are good I'm going to have the crank turned and balanced with the rods in pistons.

I plan to hone the block anyways to freshen it up, and gap the rings nicely for this build.

I know guys use the stock rod and main bolts and just don't spin the motors too high. If I went with some higher strength, ARP, or something, would I be safe hitting above 7k?

I'm going to be using the LS6 cam instead of the LS9, and swapping to some stronger springs on my 243s.

As of now it will link up to my 4L65e. I will go ahead and turbo it, but I will not push it past 450-500whp until I swap the 4L80e in. I'm thinking of NOT using the 92 4L80e trans I have and running with a 2000+ 4L80e.

I can't wait to get this back on the road.

I get married in 2 weeks and I'd love to be riding it around for the honeymoon!
