Exclamation 2001 5.3 silverado needs assistance

ladies (if any) and gentle man, i got my self a 2001 silverado with the 5.3 that i wanna lay some rubber with. i got it stock and raced a 2003 dodge hemi 5.7 and i lost. since then ive installed a k and n fipk intake, edelbrock shorty headers, flowmaster muffler with 3" pipes from the y dumped. i also have the hypertech power programmer 3. well thats all it took for the hemi but i got lightning in crosshairs. i want some nasty heads, cam, intake manifold, a real exhaust system nelson tuning suspension upgrades. i also need help with the tranny and rear end. i have the stock 3.73 posi now. im hoping for an sts turbo in the near future. but heres is the problem. i have no idea which parts i can swap with or performance parts that i can upgrade to.

so heres my question. i hope someone would be cool enough (who has worked on a 5.3) would provide a list of what parts (manufacture and part #) everyone has installed that would be great. if you can keep in mind i live in california where the smog laws SUCK

and thanks again. i love this site. you cant buy knowledge like this.

Heads: Keep your heads, get them flowed, get the LS1 valve seals, diff rockers and diff springs, TS hardend Pushrods

Cam: http://www.lingenfelter.com/store/ls1-gt2-5.html

Throttle Body: Ported and Polished, cost like $70 or do it yourself

Stall Converter: Inline-6 Trailblazer Converter
they had 3 part numbers for the I6 converter.

Ranging from 363/380 in price from dealer, buy a yank 2600 if your gonna pay that much if not buy one used on here

Rear End: 4.10 Motives wit a TruTrac, Drag tires ex. M/T ET streets... get a stroger diff cover

Trans: HD2 shift kit, Servos, Kevlar Band, Trans Cooler

N2O: 75 wet shot

that should get you close to a L

ive been reading the differences between the 5.3 and the ls1 and im not sure what the difference is. different people have different answers. i saw the cam and it says for engines 350-383. does my 5.3 take parts that fit a 350/5.7

oh and by the way great suggestions and i do appreciate the help.

ya that would work for your truck

the old 350 small blocks... such as a 327, 350, 383... im pretty certain that there parts wont fit the LS motors. here is a good article explaining all the LS motors ex. 4.8, 5.3, 5.7 346 (LS1) (not a old small block chevy 5.7 which is a 350), 6.0 etc.

you wanna look for parts for the LS motors

even if you could which im 99% sure you cant you wouldnt want to. keep your heads, just get them flowed and everything else i said... your heads flowed are better than LS1 heads flowed cause the compression will be higher
