Default talk me out of it......

every year for winter I usually play with the motor or add to it (2005 LQ4). This year the car is running great....but doing the math...I think Im at about 490 rwhp , maybe 580-600 at the motor on the NOS. A part of me wants to pull the motor and do rod bolts, timing chain, but then again a part of me is thinking ...if it isnt broke dont fix it....any opinions?

I like his way of thinking but but if it isn't broke I wouldn't do anything to it.. The 05's have the better internals the pre 05's. Unless you are spinning the hell out of it, I might do rod bolts, then again, I havn't heard of rod bolt failures, something usually leaves before them.. Just my op

Pull it all out, stick it in a crate and send it to me. I will send back a 5.3L for you to have fun with.

Just an idea for you!

Its from a 2005 silverado, but from what I read they didnt upgrade till the mid 05's, the block-heads are dated Oct 2004.
