I was just going to say something about that.. I want to keep a decent quench area.. I guess I am calling ross tomorrow to see what they have to offer, find out what there pin to piston deck is... Also need to get in contact with callies to see if they carry a stock length connecting rod (6.098 in), but from what i have seen on there site they sell a 6.125 rod which changes things. Then once I get them 2 numbers I can go about getting my ducks in a row to actually order pistons.. So I need to come up with a deck height based off of the rod center, piston center to piston deck, then add up the head gasket, head cc's. My engine guy is going to punch me in the face

YUP IT WAS. My stupid *** with a bazillion things on my mind was entering the head and piston cc's as thousands so ex instead of 71 cc I was putting .072 But even based on this I am going to get rod pin heights and piston heights, use it along with deck height to check..

Hey John,

Take a look at some off the shelf Wiseco K444X3 11cc dish pistons. They will let you use the more common 6.125 forged rods and get you in the right ballpark.

I just built a 4.005 over 364 shortblock with them and some used Lunati Pro Mod Rods and a stock crank. With a GM 5 layer MLS gasket and 317's, I'm sitting at 9.327 compression.

This is a link to a Wiseco chart but I bought them through SDPC.

Hopefully is a couple more weeks I'll be able to tell you what 17-18lbs feels like.

Rick
