I have searched all over performancetrucks and ls1tech and can't get a definate answer on the correct pushrod length. I found out that an ls6 cam is on a .050 smaller base circle than the 5.3 acm, and that the stock pushrod length on the 5.3 on is a 7.380. If you add the add the .050 smaller base circle and the stock 7.380 pushrod you get 7.430. I see alot of people running a 7.4 with no problems though. I am going to measure the preload when I install it just to make sure, but I would like to have some input from some members before I order them.

I'm fairly positive that the stock pushrod length for the 5.3 is 7.400. As far as the ls6 cam. Only the 02-04 had the smaller base circle. You would need 7.425 pushrods to accommodate this(.025 for each side of the engine). With that said, there are plenty of people running 7.400 pushrods with the ls6 cam and having no issues or excessive valvetrain noise.

 

It is an 04 cam, so a 7.425 should be the correct length allthough a 7.4 will work.

That is exactly what I am doing the swap for. Turbo 5.3's seem to make good power.

Factory pushrods are 7.38, most aftermarket pushrods are 7.4, but most aftermarket cams also have a smaller base circle than the factory bumpstick...

From the math that I've done in the past, 7.425 should be the best bet for the LS6 cam. As you both mentioned a lot of guys have used 7.4's and even the stock 7.38's without a problem, although I'd think that the preload would be a little on the loose side that way.

Speaking of 7.425's...just realized that I have a set of Comp hardened 7.425's new in the box. I was going to use them a while back and never did...make me a reasonable offer and they're yours
