Peak performance does a radical port that is supposed to add 20-30hp. Not really sure how much you would have to do to get that done.

their thread on LS1tech
Peak Performance Radical Port

I've considered them as well, for the gains they claim and price it just seems better then the FAST intake, plus I've been seeing nothing but drivability issues lately on fast intakes
basically for $600 you can have a ported intake and ported TB for basically half the cost of the fast LSXRT

I had my manifold radically ported before my cam install. The motor turns up a good bit faster and really shines over 5000rpm's. Horsepower goes up all the way to 6500rpm. After I did my cam install with the manifold it gained almost 100hp over baseline after 5000rpm. I think it was worth it. With it ported you can stick your whole arm in the manifold and feel and of the runners. If you wait a few months I will be replacing my manifold with some forced induction and will be selling it.

Probably lost some, but compared to a a 4.8 or 5.3 it probably seems like nothing haha. I agree with you the fast are way to over priced for the money.

Question, not trying to thread jack! Which is better, the intake ports to be larger than head runners, or head runners to be larger than intake ports? I ask this b/c I'm about to pull the trigger on some ported 243 heads and this thread has me thinking a ported intake would complement the swap nicely.

zero driveability issues, and zero low-end torque lost with the ported LSXRT (compared to OEM Gen 3 truck intake/tb on H/C stroker motor). Just TONS of top end power gained. It wasn't cheap though, $1500...
