Default My 224/224 sucks

I tried out my cam with the Nelson retune and the 1/8 mile results were enough to send me home after two runs. Before the cam I was in the low 9's on nos and 10.00 N/A. With the new cam and what I hope is just a shitty tune I turned an 11.5 N/A and 10.2 on a 100 shot. Has this happened to anyone?

Probably because you are not turning enough rpms in the 1/8 for that size cam. Maybe see what it will do in the 1/4 before hope is lost. And obviously gearing will play a factor. What size gears are you running?

1/8 mile test IMHO arent enough to make judgements. overall pass of 1320 shows more. this way you can get a real reading of the vehicle and whats it doing by going off the numbers on the slip

if you smell gas then you are running rich. which will hurt performance very badly....

i do agree with the 1/8th mile test. this isnt' a cam for that short of a distance. unless you have a high stall converter and some gears. you have a 3K stall converter but what about the gears? no matter how rich it is i would think you would still be able to turn the tires over with that converter.

60 ft times were 2.8 with no wheel spin whatsoever. I can normally turn 2.2-2.3 with spinning tires, so something is definately wrong. I think its all wrong in the tune becuase its smells like an open can of gasoline and it takes about two seconds for it to get past 3000 rpm and kick the nitrous in. I know that my 3.42 arent enough gears but changing to 4.10 wont fix this. I sent Nelson some data off of the predator so hopefully it will help him get my tune down. If not I will probably have to drive 5 hours to San Antonio, which is still cheaper than the 650 in labor for putting my stock cam back in.
