Default update

I finally got rid of the smoke by replacing the injectors but I couldn't get the dynotune at TSP. Nelson sent me a new tune for the longtube with no cats and it works way better on the high end but I still cant take off worth a crap. I am thinking of changing to a 212 218 small lift cam to regain the bottom end. Any more suggestions?

I still say you need to get the cam install checked. I was down over 100rwhp from an improperly installed cam that a local builder installed. That was when I was running the Whipple. Allan at Futral redegreed it and it picked up the lost 100hp.(let the record show, Allan did NOT do the original cam install)
I do not like mail order tunes. Once the cam is verified, get a street tune logging data or a dyno tune. Even with that big of a cam, you have 4.10 gears and a 3000 converter. You should have traction issues. If you cant blow the tires off from a dig then somthing is still not right, and it isnt the cam size.

I'm confused... Do you have a tuning software and therefore are able to log? I'd be interested to know if you are running into any KR with that '00 PCM. And you are still on a mail-order tune, correct?

Actually the motor sounds strong and idles nicely with no knock retard but I haven't really had a chance to drive it yet because of the transmission solenoid codes I am throwing (truck stays in 2nd gear too). I would have had something worked out by now I'm sure but I have been busy trying to keep up with everything else around the shop. Hopefully soon I will get all the trans kinks worked out and will get to test it out.

Talking Cam is fixed

I went to the mechanic this morning to install litredevil's cam and the mechanic found that I had two loose rockers and valves. He recommend to try out the current cam with the problems fixed and I did. The truck runs great and I had a smile on my face all day long. Before, I couldn't even break the tires loose and now it is super easy. It feels like an easy 100 horse increase. I tried it out and the truck pulls the hardest that it has ever pulled. My dyno tune appointment with Nelson is the 18th and I cant wait to see what it can to with nitrous.
