Ok guys, my bud talked me into getting my truck ready for an event on the first so I just went ahead and ordered a 233/239 cam and related components, built the LQ9, resurfaced the 243s just enough for flatness, had a friend degree the cam in at 106.5 and check PTV. Yanked the 5.3 out, threw the new motor in and found out the mail order tune was a mile off and had a local tuner come out and dial it in as close as possible. So far, it feels amazing but I will update after I try it out at the mud bog. I'm going to start a thread in the tuning section in a few. I'm well pleased with what the tuner was able to do last night and it's ready to ride but the idle sound is driving me crazy. With the crappy mail order tune, it was hell to get the engine to idle but when I could, it sounded amazing. Very erratic yet health sounding. Now, the idle is rock solid (the important part) but the erratic: random sound is nearly gone. Now it's a rhythmic heavy chop that you could use a metronome. Maybe it's fine but I'm just going to get some opinions on it.

With that cam you're going to have to spin that thing to the moon.

Close, we went to Wesley's on the 1st and WGMP on the 2nd.

Madmann, I don't think so. 2400 stall and the truck is an ANIMAL now. Cam was ground on a 110 ICL and we cheated by advancing it to 106.5 to move the curve down.

Killed the Trans so ill have have to build it and get a gate style shifter in it. Can't seem to shift fast enough to keep it off the limiter, haha. I'm well pleased for now but I'll be looking for ways to turn it up without FI or bigger cubes in the near future.
