Headed to Michigan
Well after years of bullshitting with you guys and spending obscene amounts of money on projects and learning stuff, I'm moving to Michigan! I had an interview/grill session with Chrysler a couple weeks ago and they offered me a job in powertrain calibration at the Chelsea Proving Grounds just west of Ann Arbor. Basically I'll be tuning stock stuff from 9 to 5, five days a week...so steer clear of Dodge products for the next year or so, at least until I figure out what I'm doing!
I met Dave (ShredSled) and Tom (fastnblu) last time I visited a couple years ago...who else is in the Detroit area?

Damn... You couldn't get in at GM so you have access to the factory stuff for us?
Chrysler should be interesting. It's the stuff you don't get to see on the road that's the most fun.
I remember when they used to come out to a facility I worked at for special project's. We got one of the first 6.2L engines before they were even released to the public in production vehicles.
They wouldn't even let us see the software they used. Some of the projects i was involved with include:
Dodge Jeep Hurricane
Chrysler Firepower Concept
Chrysler Imperial Concept
Chrysler ME 412 - I believe Mercedes's guys from Germany tuned this one...

I'll have access to the factory stuff at Chrysler! That's what's lacking in the aftermarket anyway, isn't it Actually GM waited until after I accepted the Chrysler offer to call me. Rumor has it that HR at Ford and GM are super sluggish...and I believe it. Too bad that 412 never went into production!

I'm not 100% sure as I worked there long ago, but I believe the tooling for the body still exist. To bad its so expensive to have the stuff laid up.
It was all Pre preg Carbon Fiber.
The middle cockpit/tub peice was 1 inch thick carbon fiber with threaded inserts bonded in place.
