I'd say as much as possible without spending money on domed Pistons or any other machine work other than head milling.

Enlighten me, why do you say that? You're saying leave a cheap compression bump on the table (mill and thin gaskets)?

How mych compression do you want mych more than 11:1 youll be into race fuel territory.... The combustionchambers are smaller on 243s to bump compression...

How about e85? I only run it a few times a year so if I need race fuel, so be it.

I would just be concerned with ptv with flat tops and milled heads.... Run thinner head gaskets and youll probably be where you want to be

My assumption would be that the cost to mill the heads and replace the head gaskets are not worth the gains you will see.

The engine is disassembled. Its getting honed, rings and bearings. I'm buying the heads from a friend and they are already at the machine shop we both use. They will at least get milled flat so i figure why not take off a safe amount while we're at it for even more of a CR bump? Gotta buy gaskets either way. Once I make a decision on the whole CR deal, I'll move on to the cam/ springs and pushrods. Then figure which intake to run and build the headers.

Id just mill them flat and put the thinner gaskets on it and call it a day you should be somewhere in the 11.5-12:1 range with that.... And then probably somehwere in 560-580 lift on cam would be about it for lift without putting ptv waAaay close at higher rpm....
