P0502 overrides RPM limit when set while brake stalling
#1
So I have a new one for me. P0502 was supposedly turned off a long time ago and I haven't been graced with its presence until my last visit to the track. I will be getting it annihilated again soon, but what intrigued me was the fact that I finished the 1/4 stuck in second gear at 96mph. For what it's worth- 4000 stall converter (unlocked), WOT, 3.73 gears, 26" tires. Everything under the 330' mark was super sucky timewise since I launched in 2nd.
Yes, it was turning 7955 rpm when I hit the trap. Sounded awesome actually, I couldn't believe it was in 2nd at those speeds though. The moment I let off the gas the RPM limiter returned to normal (could not cross 6200).
Why the heck would the RPM limiter fail to engage? That's not a definition included in the P0502 code...
PS: My only claim to fame was that I blew the doors off a stock El Camino while stuck in 2nd gear LOL.
