yep.....gonna take the leap and do an ls1 swap. got a great deal from a guy on tech. gonna be buying a buddies cam so he can go bigger. cam is a 228/232 588/595 112. gonna put a new melling oil pump as well. gna use my lifters and trays outta my 4.8, it only has 54k on it. cant wait. gna put in my performabuilt lvl 2 at the same time!!! hopin she runs good, hell im goin from 292cid to 346cid, and a nice cam.

used this to figure up my comp. ratio on my ls1 with the 706 heads. came out to be 10.9376

 

Yeah thats close. I have read 11.1:1 with the 5.3 heads on a 346. Just realize that you are losing flow to gain compression unless your having the 706's worked over with bigger intake valves. Good luck with the build!!
