Default GM LS 9 camshaft

Wondering if anybody had a chance to test the GM LS9 camshaft in a supercharged truck? I understood that they work on the LS1,LS2 aswell.

They are actually dirt cheap.
211/230 @ 0.50 duration
.558/.552 lift w/1.7 rockers (could try 1.8"s on it)
122.5 centerline.

Those specs look like it would be great with a supercharger If I understand it correctly, Lingenfelter discontinued one of their cams (GT7 or something like that?), because it's specs were so close to the LS9 camshaft, and those Lingenfelter cams were known to be good boost cams

Yeah, just check out the LS9 engine...a supercharged 6.2L with: an LS9 cam! lol
Puts out 626/585, so it does well for it self, IMO... I put the GT-7 in my 5.3 only to discover a month later that a flood of $150 LS9 cams came spilling out of GM's doors

I have a question that may be of some concern...if you run the LS9 camshaft do you have to replace the cam gear and timing cover? I don't believe that the cam has the lobe for the cam sensor on the rear of the camshaft. Also is it a single bolt or 3 bolt camshaft? You may need to get a different cam gear, cam gear bolt, timing cover and cam sensor, and run the wires to the cam sensor to the front of the engine.

Sounds interesting for my 5.3L Radix. Does anyone have a GM part # for this LS9 cam? Need to know more about cam gear, cover and sensor relocations/replacement. The low cost for cam could offset modifications needed for running it.

I wouldn't really consider your post as much of a question as it is the answer for anyone contemplating using a Gen IV cam in a Gen III application.

GM LS9 # 12605527

GM LS7 # 12571251
211/230
.593/.590
120

The LS7 might be a good cam also.
Chances are it would be a single bolt cam though......Could call Lingenfelter and find out. They advertise it as a LSx series cam.
