Sup guys, I kno 4.8 pistons would give me more compression in my 5.3. But I have 862 heads milled over .015. How much compression would I have then?

 

With out without the 4.8 pistons?

Without pistons around 9.7-9.8

With pistons 10.76 roughly

 

What size 4.8 pistons do I need. I think I'm going put the 4.8 piston in . Will that increase my HP

a full point of compression should net some good gains. I actualy asked and looked into it a while ago. Many factors come into play but 30 hp comes to mind gaining an extra point of compression. That is just what comes to mind for some reason.

 

my 2012 5.3 has flat top pistons. i dont know what year they started doing that.

 

06 wanna say had the l33 motor had flat tops but 07.5 and up I'm pretty sure does

 

05 had flat tops

 

2008 5.3 had Flat tops with 243 heads N/A on Compression ratio.
