Default 6.0 with a bad oil pump?

A friend of mine works at a caddy dealer and in general conversation says, dang I hate pulling that escalade motor . Are you for real? he says yeh why You want it? UMMMM YEAH. So whats the scoop? He says @ 8000 miles the oil pump went bad and spun some bearings . Is this common. I might have a 6.0 for free!!!

Get the motor and pull the main caps. Then take the crank to a good machine shop and either polish or turn it depending on the damage. Then install new bearing and a ported oil pump. You should be good to go for about $400 or less.If you are planning on a cam install it while you have the motor out.

Yea I figure a ported oil pump, arp bolts, cam, and maybe some homebrew rubbing on the heads. I figure I might spend on the whole project what I had thought I might spend for the engine alone if I went used salvage. I am very hopefull. I have been wanting a radix , but this is a way for more power now, less money, and I can still go FI down the road. Win win situation.Any 6.0 swappers, any pointers are welcomed!

I put a self ported oil pump, Patriot Stage 2 heads, 232/236 cam, LQ9 pistons, ARP rod bolts, Trick Flow pushrods, LS2 timing chain, long tubes. Guess that about does it.

I talked to Allen yesterday. He told me to email him all my mods so he can do my retune. Did that first thing this morning. I asked him, how fast did he think it could go and he said around mid 12's. If I just see a 12.99. I will be happy as a ****.
