that seems like ALOT of power for those mods but it would be sweet nonetheless

November 2004 issue of CAR CRAFT.
bone stock bottom end w/
LPE cylinder heads 2.00/1.55 valves, milled heads to 57cc
comp cams valve springs, 30# injectors, FAST lsx intake, comp cams pushrods, 13/4 long tubes, LPE cam 229/242 631/631 114.5lsa, 78mm tb, LS1 edit

Put down pk HP 458@6600rpm and pk trq 392@5800 rpm.

That Cam Is Huge In A 5.3l And Even Worse With 57cc Heads.

Well call Car Craft magazine and LPE and let them know. It seemed to work pretty well for them.

im just saying, they know alot more then me. But Compared to some of the bigger ones ran in 5.3l here vs what they are running that is HUGE. Not dissaggreeing just stating the obvious I guess for conversation.

thats what i was thinkin....no way a 5.3 with just those mods is going to put down that much to the wheels....if it would then damn, id strip out everything i put in and buy those parts right now

Number were put down on an engine dyno. The cam does seem big and they did say that the lsx intake might have been outflowing the motor but it put down some pretty good numbers. I'll probably end up running something very similar with a little less lift and a rowdier lsa.
