2005 5.3 with 243 heads ? what do u think

Default 2005 5.3 with 243 heads ? what do u think

Hey guys i just picked up a junk yard 2005 5.3 low miles

I have some 243 heads what do you guys think ....

Which head gasket should i ran ... will the 5.3 gasket work ??

I am boosting it ....

I need to know if the 5.3 gasket works .. if so i will have it all done this weekend.... if not then i have to wait till next week to get gaskets

i dont c y those gaskets wont work.. but lets c if anyone else chimes in..

ur gonna lose some compression from the 243s, I'd at least mill them down a bit to be between 9.5-9.9 compression ratio.
I understand your going to be boosted, but u don't want to kill ur out of boost witht he low compression.

The new 5.3's come with them so yes..

Yes. If it's a 2005, it might even be the aluminum L33. If not, I'd mill the heads a little to keep your CR up, but everything else should be fine.

Billy the aluminum 5.3 that I got my 243 heads off of had FT pistons I just don't know what year it was !!

NNBS don't, they went to flat tops when they put the 799 heads on them.

Sorry to butt in but I have a 05 5.3 also. Jw what would be a few signs to tell if u have the aluminum block??
