my belt popped off a few days ago, but the tensioner didnt break. I am upgrading to the hd tensioner sometime soon, might want to look into it. magnacharger and any of their dealers sell it.

A few months ago i found a maggie tensioner thread.

The poster found that a gates tensioner was superior and less expensive to the maggie tensioner for his application.

Might what to try it.

Without looking up the old threads, here is a little info I've saved from them over time and not my own words. This was supposedly determined to be the strongest of the stock replacement models.

Radix Tensioner & Idler Pulley Part #’s

Gates 38131 Belt Tensioner Assembly. - Comes with a plastic smooth pulley. I removed it to make way for the steel grooved wheel. The radix supplied tensioner mounting bolt works fine. Removing the plastic sleeve from the locating pin is required.

Gates 36100 Belt Tensioner Pulley. - Steel 75mm 6 Rib steel with 17mm bearing bore.

Info below was posted by Dr.X just a day or two ago:
Standard Radix kit tensioner:

From 87-96 Ford F-Truck/E-Van 4.9L or 87-92 Bronco 4.9L
Dayco # 89222, Pulley # 89009
Napa, Gates, ACDelco # 38131
Four Seasons # 45869
Goodyear 49233

* Tensioner comes with the wrong pulley. Correct pulley is Dayco 89009.
