Drove a new 09 RCSB LT 5.3 with 3.73s and steelies w/ 245/70 17s. It was powerful enough. The gearing allowed it to rev a lot more than Im used to, but thats what it took to get it to move.

I've always been a diehard GM man. It kills me to say it but I drove an 07 DCSB tundra (our CCSB) And I don't think I could ever buy an big three truck agian. A stock tundra will make your head spin how fast it is. The only reason I haven't bought one is b/c you can't tune them yet. As soon as they can do that I'll buy one, it's the only thing keeping you from shredding the tires off the rim from dead stop without brakes. Hold the brakes a touch and it melts the tires.
Here is a 0-60 in a RCSB with a CAI and cat back exhaust. The thing that really gets me is how hard it pulls past 60 mph, it's a beast all the way to the limiter. My tuned 6.0 can't touch this baby.

I will agree that the nnbs 6.0 with the 6 speed is very comarable. On the plus side you can tune it as well. I think with a tune it will run with the tundra.
Lastly this may be an option.

I have an 07 Sierra 6.0 ECSB 4x4 with 20's, 3.73's, K&N intake and a Blackbear tune. The tune really woke mine up. I haven't been to the track, but I would guess that I will run in the mid to high 14's in the 1/4. Low end is just fine and always has been for just tooling around town. I am very happy with mine.

I have a 5.3 rcsb and have a lot of torque down low. I have horrible traction issues with my freeway 3.23 gears, which I'm in the process of taking care of. My truck idles stock and I'm only running mild mods. See the link below, with a horrible launch because it was just a quick video I made.

I think the Tundra is just a white elephant. It sounds big and impressive when your running stock. But when you get serious about power its going to leave you flat. Dodge is no different right now. The Hemi RCSB rocks, but then minute you need more your own you own.
I have seen a few 4.8 and 5.3's on the boards and around where I hang that will flat embarass the tundras, and get better mileage to boot. Tundras come factory with good gears, and my GMC has WTFO gears.
So if I go 3.73-4.11 gears, 3000ish stall convertor, good tune, 275/60/17's with a 275 treadware, beefier cam, and roller rockers I bet I could knock them off in the 1/4. Then hold my own in a roll.
Toyota has never offered any sort of real tune. They have those piggyback systems which run notoriously way rich, and turn a tundra in to a nightmare at the pump.
A guy at the jobsite has one a CCSB and it gets 14 mpg stock. He claims to baby it and is insanely disapointed with it. His last truck "F-150" got 20, and I am thinking he might get rid of it becouse its so bad.
