huh, weird since only .2 sec seem to be the difference in the 1/4 mile between the 4 speed 6.0 chevy and the 5.6 titan. I doubt anyone will notice .2 sec seat of the pants. I can't believe with a tune (which you didn't say what tune you had), wouldn't make it run a good bit better. I know my custom tune on the 06 5.3 I have helped a great deal under 4000 RPM.

Its a perfectly valid comparison. They are both 1/2 ton light duty trucks. I have owned a GMT 900 and currently own a Titan. I liked everything about the GMT 900 but the powertrain. Trying to find a happy in between.

The reason the Titan runs so close in the 1/4 to the 6.0 is weight. Titan doesn't make the top end power the 6.0 makes, but a crew cab 2wd Titan weighs about 600lbs less than a CCSB GM and Titan has a 5spd auto.

I had a Duramax. The power was great, but I don't need the suspension. I want to get rid of the Titan because the ride and interior comfort are not doing it for me.

my brother have the 6.0 with tune and intake , it has big tires with around 3 inch lift kit.
its not faster than the titan but its the same power even with the lift and the big tires
it even spin the tires from stand
believe me the 6.0 with the new 6 speed trans is monster if tuned well

I don't doubt its faster, but I don't need a fast truck. I just want some decent power/torque under 3000 rpm.

I didn't intend for this to be a Titan vs GM thread. I've had both. In a perfect world I'd have the GM truck with the Titan torque, but I know that won't happen. I was hoping to determine if a RCSB with a 5.3 had decent low end power or if current owners felt it was lacking. My thinking was that I know the 5.3 has less low end than the Titan, but the RCSB is also lighter. I know it still won't be as torquey, but is it enough?

I don't wan't to drive a new 6.0 with the 6spd because Im sure I'll want one Don't have the budget for it right now.

something was seriously wrong if it couldn't spin the tires. Even my all stock 6.0 stock evertying, 3.42 gears would just roast the tires. It sounds like your tune was bad.
