Ordered Whipple

Boober, congrats on getting the truck out to the track. While I do not have stock times for my truck, I noticed a big improvement with my truck once the tune was all worked out. Also, for launching the truck I noticed that stalling up to around 2k rpm give me the best launch in AWD.
Last time my truck was at the track I think my time was a 12.89 at 105 of something. (don't quote me) This was more or less hot lapping the truck and with several more aftermarket parts and 8 PSI of boost.
With an improved aftermarket tune for your truck, if you plan on it, I would expect to see something in the lower 13 range. (Maybe 13.3-13.4 or so) The tune from whipple is a safe tune and runs very rich, but when you go to an aftermarket tune to get the most out of the whipple you'll also be pushing everything else a bit harder. It's all a personal call on your end regardless of what everyone on a forum states. There's always someone faster, slower, richer, poorer, etc.

What I have seen so far with the stock whipple kits on our trucks is about 6 PSI. I would be surprised if you're any lower than 6 or any higher than 7.

Hey guys, I thought i would give a general update for those who might be curious. Even though nothing physical has changed, I am making slow progress.
I have a new mechanical boost gauge on order as well as a new dual gauge pod to install it and my AEM wideband in the next few weeks. That will at least give me more real time info on what's going on. I have purschased, but not yet recieved, an upgraded HP Tuners MP VI Pro interface so that I will be able to hook up to my wideband. I also ordered a 2 bar MAP sensor but I am going to try working on the 1 bar tune for now. Getting an idea of what the psi I'm making will be a deciding factor. If indeed the unit is only making about 6-7psi, then I will talk to Whipple about stepping down to a 3.375" pulley.
I finally got a chance to read the Whipple supplied tune but have not ventured too deep yet. One thing I noticed is that the flex fuel injectors flow about 43lbs. at 43.5psi. The maximum flow at 111psi is 69lbs. but the max fuel pressure is 58 psi, right (50lbs.)? How do I figure 100% duty cycle for this application? Anyone?
Also, I took a look at the speed limiter and it is set at 98mph, so no wonder I was right around 98mph in the 1/4mile! I'm not sure if it would have helped much, but it's the first thing that's going to get changed.
I'm going to spend the next few weeks looking more in depth at the tune and try to hit the track again.

Ok, I did a logged few runs this morning.
at WOT: Inj pulse width goes from 17.0-18.0msec between 2,200rpm and 5,900rpm.
Inj flow rate is between 45 and 47 lb/hr (at crusing speed, part throttle its at 50-53 lb/hr)
Inj duty cycle peaks at 90%
These injectors should be able to handle more boost right? We are only talking 2 more psi.
Edit: so I guess I might need to upgrade injectors in the future, I'm reading that it's not advised to run injectors much over 90%.
MAF goes from 17lb/minto 60 lb/min
Timing ADV. is a steady 16deg.
This looks like an area for improvment but, I don't know enough.
Edit: I guess this number isn't too bad after all.
and TPS is at 84% at WOT, is that typical?? I know that most throttles don't open to 100% but I would expect a closer number than that!
Edit: read about it on HPTuners forums, I've got to log ETC% to see actual throttle position.
Also, the 1-2 shift came at 5,900rpm, but the 2-3 shift came at 5,400 rpm, I had to let off before the 3-4 shift but it did not look as if it was going to go much beyond 5,400 too. What is the ideal here? any reason why the tranny should not shift at 5,900 for gears 1-4?
Fixing the shift points and speed limiter are the first things I'm going to address. I will try to hit the track again after making at least these two changes. I will be surprised if it doesn't hit at least mid 13's and 100+ trap.

As far as the TPS goes my WOT shows 83% in HP Tuners, this is normal and there is a thread about it somewhere but basicly you have 100% throttle even though HP Tuners is logging 83-84%
