Ordered Whipple

The OP needs a better tuner. Sorry to be the one to say it, but that's only .3 and 3 mph faster than a tune-only similar truck. Even if the track "is a slow track" and should run a couple tenths faster somewhere else, that's still only .5 faster than a tune-only truck. Of course the OP is also running a heavy wheel/tire setup that is hurting him as well, but I'd be upset to spend that much money on a setup, to run that ET.
It's fairly well documented that tuned 6.2 trucks(4x4 extended & crew) run very low 14's, so a boosted & properly tuned setup should be high 12's-low 13's IMHO. Even faster with headers, blower cam, converter, blah blah blah.

Yes this was taken in 2WD but this is basic mods and a tune on my truck for comparison.

I can tell you that from the stock tune that came with the whipple kit was tuned fairly conservative. I had the shop that installed it adjust the tuning that came with the kit and they were able to pick up an additional 25hp and 40ft lbs of torque. I have since had Justin at BlackBear look at it and made some additional adjustments and I can tell you that have pick up some additional power there too. IN my videos I am running with the stock whipple tune with my transmission torque management sill on just to ensure I do not break anything. I had Justin also leave it on in his tunes as well. I see a lot of posts from others with the 6.2l geared with 3.73's. Dont forget the Denali's are only running 3.42 gears so they are not as quick off the line so comparing videos is hard to do. I have not had a chance to run out here in vegas as it has been to hot and the track has not been opened but once I can I will get a run or two in and post my times. On a side not I have heard that the track here will yield a quarter to a half a second slower than some other tracks at lower elevation. Not sure how true this is. I can tell you that before my supercharger the fastest time I ran here was 15.48 with my 22's and that was with a blackbear tune, k&n intake and flowmaster muffler swap. So If I get into the mid to high 13's I will be pleased with the results.

Somehow I expected alot of you guys to rain on my parade, it's cool. Just keep in mind, you are comparing the best runs on bolt-on/tuned, trucks (not Denali's though) to my first run on a track in years. I am not even remotely close to being even average at the dragstrip (road course is another matter). The only way you could compare directly is if there was a stock Denali with similar weight there at the track with me last night, but there obviously wasn't. I can tell you that there was 1 other GMT 900 there. It was a tow rig, reg cab, HD with unknown engine and it didnt even make it into the 15's. Also, there were 2 SRT-8 Challengers that were running mid 14's.
My truck is FULLY loaded, every imaginable option (sunroof, DVD, Bed Liner, Running boards, 20" Wheels, etc.). I bet its at least 150-200 pounds heavier than a fully loaded LTZ 4X4 CCSB 6.2. I would have liked to get a base run in but I just couldn't find the time. I doubt that it would have eve cracked 14's in stock form. I don't even know what stock Denali's run, anyone?
As stated before, the tune from Whipple is very conservative and I suspect that the boost is closer to 6 psi than 8 psi. I wish I had time to tinker with the tune and up the boost but I don't. I didn't want to get too involved with my DD as I already have several toys and a wicked project in the works. It took me 2 relaxing days to install (about 6 hours each day) and it has not compromised my every day relaibility or drivability in any way (not even highway milage). I simply drove it to the track in the same configuration as I drive it every day. I did nothing special to prepare and even drove it down the track much as I would if I wanted to leave hard from a red light. I am pretty darn happy that I have a reliable, 13 second, daily driver, pickup that hauls my kids, my tools for work, and will get me through winters around here.
Edit: I also want to mention that I did not post the video. That was mjdextreme. It kinda sounds familiar though!

Boober, there is alway going to be someone with something negative to say. I too am going to be pleased with a high 13's truck. Overall the truck is a beast on the road and the money was well spent on my daily driver.
