for mpg I just got 17.8 on a 780 mile trip but that was keeping it under 75. Trying to get some good mpg out of her. My DIC says 14.2 for the life of the truck 24k on it.

Door handles are easy to do. The up level mirrors are much more complex, they use databus for all the signals whereas the lower level mirrors use actual wiring harness. Some things like the auto-dimming and turn signals can be added to the lower level mirrors, but the rest would take some work (diff switches, door panels, harnesses, programming) if you wanted it all to work like stock. It could be done but major hassles.

I had a thread on here somewhere about the door handles and adding the mirror options to my RCSB (ordering anything nice on a reg cab is a PITA, guess GM (like everyone else) is trying to get us all into the moneymaker extended and crew cabs).

I found your thread about the mirros.

I am surprised to hear about the mirros on a crew cab. You can get power folding on Texas Edition SLE1 CC trucks, so you'd think all SLE1 CC trucks would be able to accept the mirrors...

Well its possible, the only way to know for sure is to pop the switches off and look. GM even had a SB on the whole situation, their way of checking to see if mirrors could be added/swapped was to see if the Tech II could "talk" to the door modules, thus confirming the databus style. No mention of cab configs or option packages.

I added the signal mirrors to my RCSB, I have since found out that many of them did not come pre-wired for it like my truck did so who knows what GM does at any given point in time.

If you want a copy of that SB PM me with e-mail address, can also get you wiring info but there is no breakdown for cab styles, only for individual options. Given that a crew cab has four doors though I'd bet it IS databus since that would be easier to route than wiring harnesses, but I would make sure before ordering mirrors off e-bay. Also, those folding mirrors have a different switch assy, it has an extra button for the folding part and different style adjust button.

Pic attached. The upper two are databus style (notice the one is missing the folding mirror button) and the lower two are plain old wiring as far as I can tell. I had looked into adding the folding mirrors to my RCSB but decided against it for now as will probably trade in when the 6 speeds come out. In my case it requires new switches, mirrors, door panels, harness and programming (the door panels are nicer style too actually). I did all my research based on my truck so not sure about ext/crews.

If you have the RPO codes that can help too....AN3/DL3 trucks are databus equipped. I can get schematics too if you wish, they show crewcabs as both databus and good old fashioned wiring. PM if you want them.

Let us know what you find out.

Sorry, true enough..I was just looking at wiring diagrams...

I think the AN3 is the power seat with programmable positions?

No AN3 either. I figured that I would have to give up the mirrors before I signed the papers. I'm sure I can live without them, but I will for sure put some painted caps on em
