Looking at an 08 Sierra, Have some Questions
Drove an 08 Sierra 1500 CC 2wd last night. It had 20s and 3.42s. I really wanted 3.73s, but they didn't have any 3.73 trucks with the other options I wanted. I drove them back to back and honestly couldn't tell a difference. Any guys with an 08 and 3.42s? Feel like you need more gear?
Going to go back and drive a Vortec Max, what are the 6.0 guys getting mileage wise?
Anyone else worried they are going to buy a truck now and have the 6 speeds come out in the spring? I wish GM would give a date, I could probably make it until spring, but I can't wait until next fall or beyond.
Finally, how much under MSRP are you guys buying your trucks for?
Thanks
AW

I have the 4.8 with 3.23's, single cab, and the power is okay. I think it is good for a single cab. I cant remember what the MSRP was, but i paid 19,002.97 out the door.

Heres the specs of my truck. As you can see I paid 21K with only a $500. rebate. It is a loaded up work truck. It has plenty of go with the 3.42's. It is still loosening up. A six speed would be bitchin.

if you are getting a new truck, get a vmax, you won't regret it.
it's a much better starting point for mods and comes with 3.73's.
all you really need is a tune to transform the thing anyway, exhaust to make it sound better.
dod does work and i get about 15 mpg all city driving.
if you not in a hurry go to the gm web site and build the truck you want, print it and that it to several dealers and get the best deal.
only took 6 weeks to build mine.

I test drove a Vmax last night, they had an 08 SLT 4x4 Vmax demo with 6700 miles on it. It had 4.10s and the computer had the average mileage at 14mpg ( for what thats worth). Vmax is definetly the way to go, glad I drove one. Just need to find what I want now.
I am a bit confused on the options though. I do NOT want an SLT. I want a crew cab 2wd Vmax. It looks like you can order the 6.0 w/o the max trailer package on the SLT, but on an SLE do I have to find/order a Max Trailering Pack to get the 6.0?
Thanks

GM order codes are a PITA. I can't order exactly what I want. I want the DL3 power folding signal mirrors. I would guess those are those are tough to add, but what about body colored door handles? Anyone swapped door handles on their NNBS?
