Aftermarket cam's and turbo performance applications don't get along with DOD. I ordered the 4.8 valley cover. Should be here friday. hope it comes with everything needed to block that sucker off. Already have the the standard roller lifters etc from my 06 4.8. THis little $500 long block is going 8's!

Dod/afm lifters fail on oem cams bc they are a poor design.

Because there have been lifter failures from the factory. Not to mention you have to delete the dod when doing a cam change. I currently have mine tuned out and I notice no difference from when I had it to now.

Here are some pictures of the 4.8 valley cover I installed this weekend.

PN 12598832 I believe. Was $28.28 from GM parts direct.

I did not plug the oil holes in anyway prior to the cover. The oil pressure bung in the back clears the LS1/LS6 intake manifold as well.

What about superchargers??? Do they still have the same problems with the lifters???

Thanks for the link.
That seems to be the least expensive kit available.
I'm just curious as to why the valley cover is different than the one that Forcefed86 has pictured? With the black plastic cover on the underside.

I'm looking to do this very soon as well as swap cams. I think this will help with my misfire situation.

Thanks
