Sounds like nothing REALLY bad has happend to anyone (which is good) but nobody knows what the long term effects are yet. But I think if I could save 7 dollars a week 364 a year it would be worth it. I am going to try it I will let everyone know. When I get results right now I am getting 11-12 MPG's so I hope it gets better

well I filled up yesterday, I got a 17.1mpg/city , i usually do anywhere from 15-16mpg in the city... I think it helped a little, but I'll do a real test on the highway this weekend since I am doing a 800mile roundtrip this weekend... I'll post up the results next week.....

I filled up yesterday and here are the results. Last time i checked for hwy mileage i got 17.5 mpg doing 75-80. This time i got 18.9 mpg. But this was a mix of 75% hwy doing 70-75 and 25% city driving. 2 oz per 10 gallons. So it looks like it helps a little.

after a trip to the hill country this past weekend.......on the way up the tahoe (5.3 w/3.42 gears at 75mph) got 17.8 mpg. I filled up with 20.xx gallons before getting on I-10 heading back and added 4 oz of 100% acetone. I checked the mileage when I filled up the mighty hoe last night and she was at 18.5mpg. Now I only used half a tank of gas coming back from hill country to Houston and my wife drove to work monday and tuesday and out to lunch blah blah blah. I would be willing to bet we pulled off a 19+ mpg freeway number which has never been done in our tahoe in the past 3.5 years we have owned it.

In short I am sold on this theory and plan to start buying the stuff by the gallon at my local sherman williams store. I can only hope this info has helped us all.

smoothsierra, that sounds good and it was not even the 3oz per 10 gallons either, it was less than 2oz per gallon... maybe you'll get better results with the 3oz per 10gals.???? i am almost sold on it also but I got a few long distance trips here in the month so I'll see what I come up with on the long distance???

Hmmm...do you guys think this small increase in mileage is due to you keeping off the pedal perhaps, and not the acetone? I'll try it on my cars and see if I get any noticeable results as well...
