I'm planning on adding about 2oz to 10 gallons ratio. What are you going to add Jerry?

well I am going to try this, I filled-up this a.m. and went with the 3oz per 10gal. ratio.. i do alot of city driving so we'll see, the problem is that I cant remember what it was before??? I think 15-16mpg?? I'll have to do a test after this tank without the acetone to see a true result??? I will be going out of town next week about 900mile round trip so I'll try it then which will be more accurate..... hope nothing messes up???

If this stuff really raises octane that much Im going to stop wasting money on racing gas.
2 gals 110= $10
2oz acetone= $.10
and it gives aproximatly the same bump in octane for a hundredth of the price.
Im really skeptical I would think someone would have been onto this by now.
Gorilla your fractions are off its actually .0015625 of acetone theres 2oz/1280oz of gas (10 gal) so
(150*.0015625)+(93*.9984375)=93.01
assuming acetone really has an octane of 150 (which I dont think is correct) and assuming your gas is an even 93 octane and you add 2oz to 10 gals of 93 you gain one onehundredth of an octane boost
thats 1/100 or .01 not much the only way I can see this stuff working is it might cause the gas to vaporize more easily and allow for better combustion but thats different than having higher octane

What are octane ratings?
Octane ratings measure a gasoline's ability to resist engine knock, a rattling or pinging sound that results from premature ignition of the compressed fuel-air mixture in one or more cylinders. Most gas stations offer three octane grades: regular (usually 87 octane), mid-grade (usually 89 octane) and premium (usually 92 or 93). The ratings must be posted on bright yellow stickers on each gasoline pump.

check it out good read from the federal gov

Well it does work. Last trip towing i got 14 mpg, this time i got 15.9 mpg. I haven't check it yet to see what i got not towing. i'll fill it up probably tomorrow. Just looking at the gauge it probably picked up a couple of mpg's. I did 2 oz. per 10 gallons. I'll keep everyone update.
