Tapping cyl head steam ports
#1
Anyone ever drill and tap cylinder head steam ports for 1/8" NPT fittings?
I'm thinking about doing this and running some -4 AN hoses all tee'd together and what not. Thoughts???
I'm on the lookout for one of those four-corner vents that came on early GMT800's, so if anyone has one, I'll buy it!

Yes it can be done and works well.

You could buy the one above or use it for an idea to make your own.

Im also considering drilling the port inthe radiator on this next one to try to get a bit more flow from it as well. Just drill the factory barb out and put my fitting in, I just need to make sure I can get to it, before I commit fully.

I'm doing a V8 swap into a RCSB, so I'll be using the V6 radiator without the steam port nipple. So far my options are 1) tap into thermostat housing, 2) tap into upper coolant hose, or 3) install a bulkhead fitting in the surge tank.
Whatever I do, I will probably tee the front and rear separately and run two -4 hoses. That should vent it real good.
Also considering relocating my temp sensor to the rear of the driver's head for a more accurate reading.

, going to do some searching on that one. If I'm going to do it, might as well go all out.
