If they bored it yes, the cost would go up. To run a Ball hone through it though is very inexpensive.

When I do mine, I do a thermal cleaning which takes it down to raw metal. That's way more expensive and requires boring afterwards.

It's usually around the $500 range to go that route.

The last one I did was only Ball honed, but I had it decked. Plus sending pistons out for coating. New arp rod bolts checking everything for size, Mocking it up to measure deck height so that I could get the desired Height out of the hole. Balancing the rotating assembly, Nitriding the crank and polishing it. The bill was around $900 In machine work and Labor. I went through like 3 blocks to get exactly what I wanted with good standard bores and to be able to Deck it to my spec.

Cam bearings with replacement is usually around $75.

Depending on how they clean they clean the block will determine the price. If they just wash it. Probably $50.

A standard ball hone depending on the shop is around $65-$80

Doesn't sound like they are Familiar with LS based Engines. Might want to shop around.

First engine had rust in the cylinders.

Second block I bought, The deck's were not true do to core shift. It would require a serious cut to get them both even. Would require special head gaskets but the machinist refused to cut it that much.

Bought another engine but it had spun rods and cam bearings so I promptly returned it.

Bought another short block from a member on here. Only needed the block and it ended up fitting the bill for what I needed.

If you have rods with floating pins, then Yes.

If you have pressed pins, then No They would not work.

H855CP75MM Pressed pin application
H1132CPA75MM Floating Pin rod

Does the block need to be bored?

That is for a .75MM over bore which is equal to about .030 over bore.

That piston is available in different sizes from that manufacture. I would talk to a machinist first so you get the right size. I believe they offer standard bore, .020 over, .030 over, .040 over, .060 over.

I prefer to go with the minimum requirement. Large sizes do not gain you anything in the power range.

The brand is fine for a naturally aspirated engine.
