This is my first post on this forum. I am rebuilding a 5.3 to stock form using std pistons from speed pro. This will go in my 70 GMC short Fleet. I could not find ANYWHERE what the stock 5.3 pistons weigh. For rebalancing purposes I wanted to know.

So the stock 2002 press fit 5.3 pistons are 404 to 406 grams. All of my ring sets were 33 grams and the pins were 163 to 164 grams.

Speed pro pistons in std bore were 402 to 403 grams and the pins were all 149 grams. So to keep from balancing or re-balancing I will use the stock pins with the new pistons. These are the dished 5.3 pistons.

I changed the new pistons because the stock ones had .007 to .008 piston to wall clearance. I have .002 at the most now so I will run with it.
