O ok,well I already pulled the trigger on a craigslist the guy said it was high milage pulled the valve covers and it was super clean...cleaner then the motor in my truck running and pulled one head and there ain't even that much build up.he sold it because he said it would smoke on start up and when you Rev it

If you are only using the block and crank and replacing the rest i wouldnt worry about it at all these things wear quite well compared to older stuff. A light hone and you could probably be good as long as its in good shape and no cyl marks like you say. The smoke could be from a couple other places besides rings/wear..

Looks like the valve seals were probally leaking. This would most likely be why it smoked on start up. The rings may also be stuck too.
Looks like a good deal!
Keep us posted when you do your rebuild.

My 6.0s cylinder walls were in much worse shape when i started, one side was damn near perfect other had rust and looked like it was sitting out side on its side and got water in the cylinders.... Bored it .030 over and havent looked back... Again keep us posted as to your rebuild

O yea for sure on my lunch break I'm gonna pull the oil pan and see how the bottom end looks, does autozone rent the puller for the crank? The motor wasn't knocking but very high milage should I replace the main bearings or just pull the pistons and leave the crank where it is??
