Default New truck guy here

Hello all, didn't really know where to post this. I have a 99 GMC Seirra 2WD Regular cab short box with the 4.8 auto in it. I'm looking to do some minor mods to it and thought this board would be a good place to start. I look forward to picking everyones brains on here.

Welcome to the boards. You will find plenty of help here. The guys on here have helped my little ol' 4.8 go from a no launching, slow factory dog to a pretty quick truck (imo) that gives those stock hemi & triton boys more than they can handle. (Thanks everyone) I just love the look on their faces when they hear all I have is a 294 or a 4.8.

Welcome I recommend an intake, exhaust setup and a tune. How much you got to spend?

Thanks for the warm welcome. there is a ton of usefull info on this site, so far everything i have searched for i have found.

I don't have alot to spend, this is still my daily driver, so i don't want to go to far into the engine, i'll problay just do a cold air kit and a cat back, maybe some headers if the budget allows it. I'm looking for something with a nice mellow tone, i was thinking an edelbrock cat back, but not sure yet.
