Default 2015 5.3 or 2013 6.2???

Okay guys I'm finding myself in a real dilemma right now. I'm in the market for a new truck and I'm torn between the new 2015 silverado 5.3 and the older 2013 6.2. IMO the new trucks are way nicer and comfortable than the old trucks but the 6.2 is so damn tempting.... The price diff between them is relatively minor as well.

Don't get me wrong I live and breathe HP but my gut is telling me I should invest in the newer...

Thoughts?

I was in the same position as you last year. I was looking at a 2014 5.3 and a 2013 6.2. I went with the 2014 5.3 and was really happy with it. I traded up for a 2015 6.2 and wish I would have bought the new 6.2 first.

Does fuel mileage matter at all?

I'd take the older 6.2 personally, I'd rather have the extra power but I also only drive 5 miles a day so the mpgs wouldnt even matter to me.

I have a 2011 6.2, and I'm looking to get into a newer body style. I can tell you that going from a 6.2 to 5.3 just feels weird. The torque even with bigger all terrain tires is awesome, I will only be buying a 6.2 14+

Easy for me. A 6.2 if you need a crew or the new 5.3 if RC. Love the DI...way more power than before.

Well it looks like your last truck was modded so why not just incest the money you spend on mods into the 6.2 at the beginning. Might aswell have something you have no regrets on if you plan to keep it long.

I don't care if it had an LS7, i would never go back to an older body style for a DD after putting 60k miles on a '14 5.3.

The gen4 6.2 has way more HP, but the torque difference way down low is negligible compared to the DI 5.3.... definitely not enough to revert back to the old road noise, cracky plastic, semi truck seat height, antiquated display/connectivity, and shitty payload handling.
