Default Mystery Grinding/Vibrating Noise at 12-1400 RPMs

05 1500 5.3L.

Had this mystery noise with no answers to what it could be. Im totally lost... I got a video of the noise today coming home. I just want to find out what it is and fix it because the truck is a awesome truck, runs great and this noise is the only thing wrong with it.

The noise will happen when holding the pedal at certain RPMs (heard at the end of video) or when you come from a light dead stop. Thats what really stumping me...

Ive religiously searched YouTube/Google for similar cases with no luck or a answer from someone who has had the same noise and found a fix.

Thanks for any help, need any more info let me know!

Aliens, without a doubt

does the noise continue if you shut the truck off? You said it's rpm related but you didn't say if it's mph related. If you replicate the noise in neutral, engine related. If it continues with engine off, drivetrain/ wheel related

some noises we've figured in the past in this forum:

AC system: compressor or tensioner. Pop belt off and check

Anything that spins in the ACC drive, it's all got bearings: check 1x 1 until you find a crunchy or ultra free spinning bearing. They should all have a little resistance to spinning, aka greased. If you can spin it like a fidget spinner, trash it and replace

Harmonic balancer and front seal. If it's the seal, it will make noise with the belt off. If it's the balancer it will likely be visibly wobbling with engine running

Wheel bearings, easy enough to check

Front diff/ front ujoint/ front diff mounting: this may take some disassembly but it will make itself obvious if it's bad enough

Transfer case pump rub: when they puke all the fluid, they get noisy. Rebuild or replace

Transmission noises: 4L80 swap, but first just your fluid level

Flexplate/ TC bolts: take off the starter and the inspection plate and pry around and see if either is loose. TC can be tightened in the truck, trans has to be dropped to tighten flex

others will chime in about interior noises: but that's a solid list of what I remember on this beer fueled Friday night post

Sounds to me kinda like a rattling exhaust heat shield.

It is impossible to tell what I'm hearing on my laptop and I can't open it any other way because it is a .mov file. Would it be possible for you upload it in a different format or put it on YouTube? That way I (and maybe others) could listen through real speakers.

Never thought to try it in neutral. I will rev it up to those rpms in park to see if noise happens. Ive also noticed on the drivers side that if i hit a rough patch in the road it clunks around almost like the sound a loose pedal would make when it jumps around. The thing is it does it when im coming to a stop. Im thinking suspension related? Maybe with the grinding sound a hub? Ill try to see if the noise happens when still at those rpms and report back.

After checking the heat shields, check if there's anything in the engine compartment touching the firewall that shouldn't be, if you haven't yet.

ok. Planning on trying to see what I can find tomorrow while its raining and we are in a shutdown. I might put the rear end on jackstands and get it to those rpms and have someone else listen around as well. Hoping its a heatshield thats loose cause thats honestly what it sounds like.
